Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp black tea leaves
- 1/4" piece of ginger
- 2 pods cardamom
- 1/2 tsp (2mL) Kewra water
Directions
- In a 3 qt saucepan, set the water on high to boil.
- Crush the ginger and cardamom lightly with a mortar and pestle or the back of a knife, and add to the water.
- Scald the milk in another saucepan, or microwave it for 1 minute.
- When the water reaches a rolling boil, add the tea leaves, and stir once. Let boil for 30 seconds.
- Add the sugar and milk and stir well.
- When the liquid starts to boil again, turn off the burner, stir, cover the saucepan, remove from the burner and let sit for 1 minute.
- Add the kewra water, stir, and drain into cups
