Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups cream
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 5 cups day-old bread, cubed
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Whisk together eggs, sugar, cream, milk, vanilla, and salt.
- Place bread in a greased baking dish, and pour the custard over the bread, making sure all bread is covered.
- Bake for 40-60 minutes at 350°F, until custard is set.
Toffee Bread Pudding:
Add 1 cup of toffee bits on top before baking.
Chocolate Bread Pudding:
Before mixing the custard, heat the cream and pour it over 8 oz chopped bittersweet or semisweet chocolate and stir until melted. Add ganache to the custard mixture.
