Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups cream
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 5 cups day-old bread, cubed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Whisk together eggs, sugar, cream, milk, vanilla, and salt.
  3. Place bread in a greased baking dish, and pour the custard over the bread, making sure all bread is covered.
  4. Bake for 40-60 minutes at 350°F, until custard is set.

Toffee Bread Pudding:
Add 1 cup of toffee bits on top before baking.

Chocolate Bread Pudding:
Before mixing the custard, heat the cream and pour it over 8 oz chopped bittersweet or semisweet chocolate and stir until melted. Add ganache to the custard mixture.
